Pastry Chef

The Pastry Chef is responsible for preparing, baking and decorating pastries, cakes and other dough. This includes the process from planning the products, weighing and measuring ingredients making various baked items, and finally decorating them.

Scope

  • Prepare, bake and present pastry effectively and efficiently.
  • Prepare a wide variety of products such as bread, bun, whole cakes and cookies.
  • Planning of pastry menus
  • Monitor stocks for baking ingredients and make appropriate orders.
  • Ensure that procedures for suppliers; products receiving, equipment are complying to the established standards.
  • Maintain standards for food storage, quality, and appearance of work area.
  • Ensure high level of food hygiene and safety standards are maintained, ensure pastry section at the kitchen is clean and hygienic in food handling.
  • Train and guide trainees on baking process and procedure
  • Ensures that customers are given a prompt and efficient service with timely food preparation and delivery.

  • Passion for baking & knowledge sharing
  • Possess knowledge of baking skills & techniques
  • Good communication & presentation skills
  • Independent & takes initiative
  • At least 3 Years of working experience in the pastry industry will be an advantage
  • Be a team player
