The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum (BTRTM) commenced construction in early 2005 and was officially opened on 30 May 2007 by the President of Singapore, Mr. S. R. Nathan. It was consecrated on 17 May 2008 by the President of the Singapore Buddhist Federation, Venerable Shi Kwang Seng. BTRTM serves as a regional religious center for Buddhist devotees in Singapore and around the world. It Is specially designed for the veneration of The Sacred Buddha Tooth Relic and showcases the various Buddhist traditions and artifacts, in a traditional and yet modern temple.

BTRTM was completed at a cost of $75 million for the land lease, building construction, interior décoration, Buddhist images and museum artifacts. Many of the building’s exterior and interior works are priceless traditional works of art, hand-crafted by special teams of artisans from China, Taiwan and Japan. Unfortunately, the fund raising effort was affected by a number of unforeseen economic situations. As a result of the shortfall, the temple had to secure a $22 million 15-years term loan from the banks to complete the project.

We now seek your kind and generous donations to help BTRTM reduce this outstanding loan. This would lightened the financial burden, thereby allowing BTRTM to better serve the numerous Buddhist devotees and visitors.

We also welcome our overseas Buddhist friends to continue to visit BTRTM online and contribute to our many activities and sponsorships. May the merits of your sponsorship bring you and your family – happiness, peace, prosperity and wisdom.

Thank You for your kind assistance and support.

With the Triple Gems Blessings,
